Fix regressions related extent splitting failures.

Fix a fundamental extent_split_wrapper() bug in an error path.

Fix extent_recycle() to deregister unsplittable extents before leaking
them.

Relax xallocx() test assertions so that unsplittable extents don't cause
test failures.
